A confluence of responsible travelers, a meet-up of the environment devotees, a convergence of ideas and a summit on travel – all this in one day when the who’s who of travel industry made their way to the Outlook Travelers Responsible Tourism Summit 2017 on 19th Jan at The Grand, New Delhi.
Unhoteliers Manish and Shilpi were excited and enthused to be there. It meant being part of a collective effort to take tourism to a responsible level. Since ‘The Unhotel’ spread its wings in September 2016 handpicking uncommon stays, lodges, experiential homestays, the team has been learning relentlessly to make traveling, more an experience and less of a “must do” activity.
Conversations, events, engagements, retreats – all have been specially curated and designed to feed the traveling soul – which seeks something new and unconventional every time it travels.
So, our happiness knew no bounds when three of our experiences were nominated in different categories and we had one winner. Have a look at the charming places that we call Unhotel that people are preferring over the more conventional offerings.

The inaugural address by Amitava Ghosh was a great wake up call for all of us not just the tourism industry. Responsible tourism is no longer a niche and a luxury but a necessity that must be embraced by all.
