Amidst an Orchard
A delightful cocktail of modern comfort meets pastoral serenity – The Farmer’s Secret is a 65-year old renovated Himachali stone-and-wood cottage calling out to the weary traveller. The wooden floors look worn out, the bare walls reveal layers of wood and stone. But bright cushions and bedspreads, recycled lamps liven the place and make for a cosy ambience.
One can curl up with an apple to munch on in the sitting rooms in front of the cottage with large french windows looking out onto the undulating scenery of the valley. Or spend a rainy day in front of the fireplace in the skylight-equipped sun room.
Close your eyes, listen to the rustle of the apple trees, the murmurs of the workers picking fruit, village dogs barking and the birds chirping. Seclusion, tranquility and detox in a nutshell.
The Farmer’s Secret has two rooms surrounded by apple orchards. However, more guests can easily lodge here on single beds, settees and extra mattresses placed in the three gorgeous sitting rooms in the front of the cottage.
All rooms in the cottage combine modern comforts with rustic decor while being eco-friendly. The bathrooms are quite large and indulgent, complete with luxurious bathtubs.
This cottage comes with a charming sunroom with skylights that look out onto a star-studded night sky. Alternatively, you can choose to bask in the sun here throughout the day.
Although the cook will be around to cook up meals, guests are welcome to use the kitchen here but provisions will be needed to be bought from the village market nearby.
