Puts the Real in EtheReal
Amidst sprawling peach, plum and apricot orchards, this setting is straight out of a Claude Monet painting. Views of the snow-capped peaks with scattered cotton clouds in blue skies surround this wooden cottage. And if this is not dreamy enough, the cottage by itself is spellbinding- with a glass roofline enclosing the lodge and opening vistas to starry skies.
Accommodation & Food
The rooms are elegantly furnished, symbolic of the typical mountain poised wooden floorings and décor. Yet, they are warm and possess refined character. Each room has en-suite bathroom with hot shower. There is also a private Log Cabin if you are looking at rekindling some romance! The in-house cook rustles up tasty ‘ghar-ka-khana’.
A Farmer’s Delight
The farm at the Barn House is definitely the most alluring- fresh fruits grow all the year round here, both planted and inherited. Peach, plum, apricot, apple, pear and more – all juicy, organic and fresh will make you hate the tasteless ones you get back in your city. There are also herbs like Sage, Thyme, Tulsi, Bay leaf and even Oregano along with wild berries. They do bee keeping here and a host of other farm activities that your kids would love to see and hopefully learn.
We won’t lie-this Unhotel is thoroughly enjoyable with a good and large company- we are talking about wine by the fireplace, books and conversations over piping hot cappuccinos or just sit outs gazing at the Himalayan expanse while the sun seeps in. But even families or couples looking for a peaceful, private and cosy clifftop retreat will find this an uncommon yet enjoyable experience!
Things to Do
EVERYTHING. No, really! It’s everything a home in the hills should be- rustic, resplendent and restful. A snug homestay meets the interiors and service of a hip studio in this barn house looking lodging. You wouldn’t want to go back home.
Groups of friends, families or couples who like to slow down and stay in the moment, without rushing here and there from one view point to another. Creative folks looking for a solo retreat to channel their inner creativity will find lots of inspiration here.
Those who don’t care so much about the feel of a place. Those looking for elaborate menus, on call waiters and bell boys and cookie cutter mountain vacations. Even the pocket conscious travel should avoid this unhotel.
