Today, let us share with you something very dear to our heart. It all began on New Year’s Eve 2017. Women in Bangalore had been molested during New Year’s celebrations, all because they were so sure that they could share the same enthusiasm as their male counterparts while ushering in the New Year. The country had once more been shook up, having been reminded of how unsafe women were in their own cities, their homes.
The Unhotel Company and founders – Shilpi & Manish, have been very vocal and passionate about equal rights for women – at home, in office, in the public domain. We won’t stand for discrimination against women. The time has come for women to thrive. Women need to have a strong self – belief and confidence to achieve what is rightfully theirs.
#reclaimyspace is an Unhotel Company initiative to encourage women to travel; to experience the world without any fear and constraints and to live life on their own terms.
Travel is the best platform for continuous growth – to connect with one self, to introspect, to observe and experience the beautiful diversity around the globe.
For us, women travelling solo or in women groups is a strong statement of expressing one’s identity and independence. For the world, it’s a symbol of strength, taking charge of one’s life, likes and dislikes, overcoming fears and inhibitions. It’s a gift to just be ‘Me’.

The confidence which comes with travelling is both empowering and thrilling and the message which is sent to the world is that of strength and boldness. We want to continue to motivate and work with women to enable and partner them to be leaders and change makers the society needs today.
