The local Himachali communities take pride in their roots and have kept their traditions and values intact, including their belief in the age-old adage of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’. This is a trip curated to get a glimpse into the lives of Himachalis and participate in their culture and traditions. And of course indulge in some popular experiences as well, like Paragliding at Bir-Billing, known worldwide for hosting the first ever Paragliding World Cup. The highlight of the experience is our local caretaker Uddham Singh’s daughter’s wedding – a simple Himachali wedding followed by the Feast or Himachali Dham that you will be a part of.
Undoubtedly Himachal is a hot favorite amongst Indians. The frosted peaks, colonial structures, the waterfalls and streams – everything makes the state so pristine and captivating. But tourists flocking to the state often forget that it is perhaps the smile passed by the hardworking women heading to work, the stories narrated by the locals selling hot Maggie at viewpoints or the carefree children with wide-eyed dreams playing in the open grounds that make the state warm & welcoming.
This experience also includes a visit to the Andretta Artist Village that has a rather interesting story behind it. Built by an Irish actress Norah Richards for her love of Punjabi theatre, it was once a meeting point for famous artists, potters and actors. She started a drama school, and in time the village came to be known as Mem-da-pind (the village of the memsahib)
The cost for this 5D/4N trip is for Rs 24,900 per person inclusive of taxes. EMI option is available.
